Insulation is a fibre glass  that is used in homes to keep the homes warm here is a photo of our inquiry board here it is

 

Aquifer System

In ruma weka our group has been doing an inquiry on the Aquifer System. We have mad a model of two water tanks attached together by a pump. One has dirty water in it and it pumps water into the other tank to make it work. As the dirty water goes through our filter which is made from sand and gravel. This turns into clean water and drips into the bottom of the tank.

Sewage science

We made the structure with pipes,rope,tape,cardboard we had to do lots to problem solving. 

We cut the pipes with a saw to make it the right height. Now we are up to making the inside to the toilet. 

Telephones

Our inquiry group is focusing on phones and now we are taking them apart to see what's inside of them. Tom brang his sisters broken IPod to school so we all took it apart and Ms Copping gave us her old phone so we took that apart too. We have had lots of fun taking all the phones apart. The next thing we will try and find out is how sound waves travel through telephones.

S4Solar

This is our solar powed house.We have installed the insulation. And are making the roof for and about to install solar panels. We chose the house so we could share our learning about solar. Solar power runs by sun and can charge your car battery. Mr Solar known as Ben came in to weka and he gave us lots of information.

Lemon powered light bulb

This is a lemon powered light bulb that is powered  by the juice in the lemon. We did this  experiment  because we were interested  about how a lemon would power a light bulb. Our next step is to make a atom. We are going to present our learning using our ART smarts and acting.
