Week 5

CAMP RAGLAN IS THIS WEEK!!! Who is feeling excited? I hope everyone is feeling excited for another amazing camp. This does mean that it will be a short week in class so there will be no homework this week. I will be sending home notices on Monday afternoon as a reminder of departure and arrival times as well as a packing list.

I have added some new numeracy and literacy activities in 'EXTRA LINKS'. Have a go at them and let me know what you think about them

What's Happening During Week Four?

Wow it is week four already... We have got another busy week ahead of us.
This is the last week that we will be focuisng on statistics as we will be moving onto addition and subtraction week 5. I have added a link on "Extra Links" that is interactive and will help the students with their basic facts.
As you will all be aware there are parent interviews next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, so please make sure you book a time. I would really like to see everyone and find out what your goals are for your children this year.
This week homework will be due on Thursday as we will not be in class on Friday. Therefore we will complete the Thursday column in the Mental Maths book at School.
Swimming Sports will be this Friday at the town pools. Students will be expected to be dropped off at the town pools no earlier than 8.30 and finishing at 2.30. If you are not busy that day we would love to see you. Also if you are handy with a BBQ and wouldn't mind cooking the sausages for the kids please let the office know.

Hope you have a lovely week and we will be adding some photos this week for you all.

What is Happening Week 3

Wow we are already into week three!! I hope that everyone has enjoyed their weekend and ready for the first full week of term 1.

Camp Raglan Notices need to be in by Monday 10th of February. The payment doesn't need to be in just yet though. The notices are the most important as we need to let parent helpers know as well as organise transport.

Homework will start going home this Monday. The year fours will be using a  homework exercise book for their spelling words and reading logs as well as taking their mental maths books home. These books will need to returned every Friday for our maths and spelling tests. If you have any questions about this please feel free to pop in an see me.

Many thanks for all your support

Welcome to Ruma Weka for 2014.

Ruma Weka is made up of 25 powerful year four explorers. We are very girl heavy this year with 16 girls and  9 boys. At the moment we have been doing lots of team building activities to help us get to know each other. We have been learning about Goodwood's VALUES, COMPETENCIES and VISION. We have also been learning about the importance of THINKING CRITICALLY, REFLECTIVELY and CREATIVELY. Ruma Weka have also been exploring the importance of engaging both the LEFT and RIGHT side of our BRAINS. We have also been learning about our SMARTS. Ruma Weka has discovered that we are an extremely SPORTY and ARTY bunch who need to develop our PEOPLE and SELF SMARTS.

Over the next couple of weeks we will be doing lots of preparation for our Middle Syndicate Camp that will be taking place on Thursday and Friday in week 5. We are extremely excited and cannot wait to for it.
Please leave us messages and share any ideas you have for our blog...
